Storybook’s Larkspur

This is Storybook’s Larkspur. She is a gorgeous young doeling of whom we have high hopes! She is out of JC’s Snowdrop 3*P, who gives us over a gallon a day for months on end.

Larkspur is a robust girl: strong of leg and wide of body. She has gorgeous long ears and is of an unusual color, which adds to her charm.

She was sired by Cedar Creek’s Outlaw Blues +*B. So, she has significant milk creds, and we so look forward to freshening her in 2027. She is F5.

Larkspur’s Registration

Larkspur’s Dam Line

Poppy’s dam, JC’s Snowdrop 3*P is the second-born kid on Storybook Farm and has been here her whole life. She is our top milker in 2024, giving over a gallon a day and flawlessly nursing quads.

Left is her udder picture, and you can read more about her (and see more pictures) by clicking her name: JC’s Snowdrop 3*P.

Obviously, she has great attachments and her udder is high and tight. We have retained both of the two daughters that Snowdrop has given us in her four freshenings. Her daughter Storybook’s Tiger Lily is on track to gain her milk star as a second freshener in 2024.

This is Larkspur’s dam, Snowdrop, in labor in 2025 with triplets, two of which we retained: Storybook’s Larkspur and Storybook’s Sequoia *B.

This is only her pre-kidding udder. It’s simply gorgeous at age 6!

Larkspur’s Sire Line

This is Cedar Creek’s Outlaw Blues +*B. Outlaw has an outstanding pedigree with many of the forbearers of our favorite Eastern lines, but adding in many Western greats as well. It doesn’t hurt that he is purebred, polled, blue eyed and as of Septermber 2025, a +*B!

Outlaw has excellent milk lines, his dam Cedar Creek Pandora Blue *P was 7 years old in 2024, and kidded quads. This picture is of her first 12-hour separation.

Her udder is nicely shaped with strong attachments & good teat placement. Obviously, it has held up very well!

Outlaw’s paternal grand dam, SR’s Naomi *P, on the 2018 1-day milk test top 5 list was – #1  in Points, #1 in Lbs of Milk, and #3 in BF %.
