This is Storybook’s Moonpie. She and her twin sister Storybook’s Starburst are both out of JC’s Biscotti 2*P who is a milking powerhouse!
Moonpie got her name from the white “frosting” on her underbelly and legs, contrasting with her dark coat. Plus, it’s a food name to carry the theme set by her dam.
Starburst is a gorgeous black sundgau with milk genes galore like her sire, Cedar Creek’s Outlaw Blues +*B. She inherited his blue eyes and is polled like him. Read more about her sire and dam below.
Moonpie was born in the spring of 2025, and we have hopes that she will be bred in 2026 for 2027 kids. She is F6, and should qualify as a purebred.

Moonpie’s Dam Line

Moonpie’s dam is JC’s Biscotti 2*P, who freshened for first time in 2024 and earned her production star as a first freshener. Biscotti was sired by our own Storybook’s Bramble *B, and is out of JC’s Penelope *P. This is her 2F picture with these twin girls; she came in most evenings just dripping with milk. Her udder was high and tight; even better than when she first freshened.
She has excellent milk genes, and clearly Storybook’s Bramble increased the height and attachments in Biscotti’s udder over her dam’s (click to see Penny’s udder).
See more on Biscotti’s dam and sire by clicking on her name above.

Biscotti’s dam is JC’s Penelope *P.
She was about 60 days fresh in this picture of her FF udder, after her first 12-hour separation. She milked about 5#.
It is high and tight. Great lateral attachments and nice teat placement. Her skin is soft, and her orifaces are wide.

Moonpie’s Sire Line

This is Cedar Creek’s Outlaw Blues +*B. Outlaw has an outstanding pedigree with many of the forbearers of our favorite Eastern lines, but adding in many Western greats as well. It doesn’t hurt that he is purebred, polled, blue eyed and as of Septermber 2025, a +*B!

Outlaw has excellent milk lines, his dam Cedar Creek Pandora Blue *P was 7 years old in 2024, and kidded quads. This picture is of her first 12-hour separation.
Her udder is nicely shaped with strong attachments & good teat placement. Obviously, it has held up very well!

Outlaw’s paternal grand dam, SR’s Naomi *P, on the 2018 1-day milk test top 5 list was – #1 in Points, #1 in Lbs of Milk, and #3 in BF %.
